I will, but not today. I'm a bit sick of staring at the computer, to be honest, and I still have to get the Danish cookery interview converted while I have everything hooked up.
But I will. _________________ turn frustration into inspiration... |

| haha...that's funny...what an annoying little twat that guy is! Upholding the tradition of crap and uninsightful interviewing by the BBC's team at Glastonbury...it could only have been worse if it had been Fern whatsherchops or Jo 'celebrity pals' Whiley. |

| They should have got Phil Jupitus to do the interview rather than a generic tv moron. |

The whole thing didn't make much sense. In the first paragraph he makes some comment about the welsh accent (despite himself probably having THE strangest accent in rock) and he goes on about how the music just doesn't do it for him.
Then the rest of the piece he is saying things like 'good solid songwriting' with 'advanced melodies' and referred to 'Juxtaposed with You' as a "real acocmplishment" and "very smooth"
So did he enjoy it or not? Sounds a bit mixed up to me!
For what its worth I *LOVED* the Super Furries first two albums ('Something for the weekend' and 'Radiator' but feel they started tailing off a bit after then. Perhaps if they had still been in that phase Eugene would have been more enthusiastic) |

To be honest, I reckon the Welsh accent must be pretty strange sounding to a people who aren't used to it. It's very... particular, innit? Personally, I love Welsh accents, but there's no accounting for taste. _________________ turn frustration into inspiration... |

ah ha now it's starting to make sense. I've not seen that guardian article before but that must be why he won't play here, he hates the accent and the music it seems. Well done eugene, you twonk. He's let himself down there, an intelligent guy like him not liking an accent when many would find his an assault on the ears. _________________ intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic |

| Has anyone entertained the notion that he may have actually said that as a joke? He normally says pretty random things in interviews anyway |

I think it's more a case of booking agents maybe not realising they're missing out a huge chunk of the UK. They've not played a club date in Ireland either... _________________ turn frustration into inspiration... |

I'm not sure you can say he hates the accent or the music from that short mixed review of the Super Furry Animals. Have they never played Cardiff or Newport? |

oops, slight overreaction on my part. Still a very daft thing to say considering he's supposed to be all about the global village. They should play, they'd be well received i'm sure - any excuse for a party. _________________ intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic |

How did I miss these. Thanks for uploading them - Mishto is excellent. Eugene's interview was cringeworthy but then he had to answer murray's absolutely inane questions. _________________ intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic |

From Johnny, moved from another thread:
I've put my Glasto photos on facebook, there's a few of GB on the Pyramid Stage...
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=4467&l=72e65&id=584392322
'fraid they're not brilliant as I only had the camera on my phone, and as discussed elsewhere you're a long way from the band at the Pyramid! In the couple of them soundchecking, you can make out Sergey and Yuri in very featching yellow polythene ponchos!
There's a few of Iggy Pop's stage invasion and Mahala Rai Banda on the Jazz Stage on Sunday afternoon too. _________________ turn frustration into inspiration... |
