I was thinking it might be fun to have a forum secret santa! If you guys are in I'll start figuring it out (our mods have plenty to do already I'm sure) if enough people are interested we can figure out some guidelines (price limits, deadlines to sign up, blah blah blah)
Anyone else think this sounds fun? |

Yes even though I have limited resources in cash, I am still pretty handy at making shirts and other things _________________ And a bottle will always be my cover.

I wish I was handy or crafty, but homemade stuff is an awesome idea. I was thinking we should make it cheapish like $10 tops, just something little and fun. |

Word yo! It will actually mean more too, and especially if you made something significant to your culture, region, or style to send to someone. So lets get to work and spread some love! _________________ And a bottle will always be my cover.

In, I however will have to apologize ahead of time for whatever very childlike craft comes the way of whoever I end up getting.
I think the best way to do this would be to set a deadline. Anyone who wants to participate has to reply to this thread by hmm... November 19th. That will give plenty of time for all interested parties to make their gift as well as time on my end to match everyone up before the holidays. |

I'm excited. I'm gonna start working on mine tonight. Whatever you end up making will have to be better than the Native American Santa white elephant I got a few years ago. It was horrible. _________________ 60 revolutions per minute--this is my regular speed |

I got it!!!!! OMG I found the items necessary to make the thing - they were totally discounted so I was able to stay within the budget. Now I just have to wait until my slave labor force gets off the school bus and it will be completed.
I'm SO PSYCHED about the thing. WOO HOO *insert me doing happy dance*
OK maybe I'm a little overexcited about this but I don't care. I'm done and it is SO COOL!!!!
(Feel free to mock me in future comments - I've got broad shoulders.) |

Joining the dork crew. I had to enlist help in making my gift and then I had to explain what it was for. Any other regulars really enjoy the "well I am on this band forum and thats how I met so and so/ thats who I am going on vacation with/ thats who I am hand making gifts for."
Its pretty hilarious to watch reactions.

so true,
an italian forum member, had her own intimate road trip- in august and traveled (partly) alone whit her tent- came for a few days, and stayed whit us in rome, as our appartment is so tiny, she slept in the appartment of another friend of mine-- mostle people thougt we were all crazy!!!
you do invite someone you dont know? and send her in another peoples places??? what if she steels every thing???
and she must be stupid if she goes to visit people she met online??
how can she be sure that you are not "fishing" for young girls ??
what do you think you can share whit some one so different of age??
it was both nice and so funny-- as zig-zague said , this is what hutzovina
is about theese days he is looking for GB stickers for me _________________ it's up to you to know, or not!!! |

I was thinking sometimes I do-
how does all the " things" get to all of us??
maybee it would be easyer, if you pm us the address of the person we have to send the thing to, and then we directly send it?
if we all send our things to you, you will have tons of work, and what about sending it to all of us, means that we have to send monney to you so you can send it again????if not,- you will have the whole cost for sending all the stuff,- "grandfather informed me that this is not possible " it seems complicated to me - we don't use the same currency _________________ it's up to you to know, or not!!! |

Sounds good I'll sort the names and addresses out and pass out the secret santa names by Dec 1. Then say we send the items out by Dec 10th - how does that sound to everyone?

Hesitant to get in on the fun because money is tight this year - fear not here's a low cost gift that you can make with stuff that is probably already in your house, or your girlfriends house.
These slippers are:
* Soft and Hygienic
* Non-slip grip strips on the soles
* Built in deodorant feature keeps feet smelling fresh
* No more bending over to mop up spills
* Disposable and biodegradable
* Environmentally safe
So I've gotten addresses from some of you - still waiting for about 10 more. |

Last call - It's not too late to get in on the Ave-B Secret Santa. Names and addresses should be PM'd to me by tomorrow. I'll start sending the names out after that.
Come... play with us. |

OK I PM'd everyone the name of your secret santa person. If you did not get a name let me know. Hopefully it all worked out.
You should mail out your gift by Dec 10th. Make sure you put your screen name in with the gift or the person receiving it won't know who it is from. Please post a description and picture of your SS gift in this thread - you can tell who sent it to you.
If there are any problems let me know. |

Another really helpful thing to post here is if you have any allergies. I don't have any food allergies, but I am allergic to alot of perfumed things like lotions and such.
It might be a good idea for people to post that type of allergy info here. |

Everyone should have gotten their secret santa person and address by now. Don't forget to include your Ave B screen name so they will know who it is from. If you have not or would still like to throw your name into the hat please let me know asap.
Gifts should be sent out by the 10th. I'll post another reminder then.
Ho ho ho... |

I have to say sorry to my gift recipient too...I'm a little behind, my Dad has been seriously ill and my school got inspected this week which has equalled next to no free time and chaotic twirliness a go go...I will post it this weekend though. |
