figured a thread about gogol's new russian language album would be appropriate. i've managed to get a hold of it and have listened to it about twice now.
first thoughts..
lots of studio polishing, took me a listen or two to get used to such heavy guitars and the violin/accordion being mixed that way on some tracks.
with that being said, while its not much original music per say, i think this is a solid album, has some fun tracks. i particularly enjoyed endless boogie as well as the dynamo kiev fan song. the TCH remix at the end was a cool little treat too. |

If you write the name in Cyrillics (моя цыганиада) you get loads of links to download it from, in case some of them don't work. I haven't had the chance to listen to it in full yet, but noticed there's a version of Да Повыкурим, Да Повызнобим which Eugene played in one of the Yalta backstage clips http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rlibW7Aexo&feature=related. Such a lovely song!
