| Anyone going to the Eugene or Portland, Oregon shows? I'm popping my GB cherry and hitting up both shows. I'm stoked! |

I'm going to the portland one! SOoo excited. I had originally bought tickets for Eugene and Portland but I just found out I can't go to the Eugene one .
At least I get to go to one... hah.
(But if anyone needs a ticket for Eugene PM me... I'm in Seattle so I can't send it in time...)
Does anyone know what the Roseland theater is like? |

Awesome! I really wanted to hit the other PNW shows, but I'm leaving town Wednesday morning for a conference. I was supposed to leave Tuesday, but like I could miss a GB show. So excited to finally see them live! Sent my mom the Leno vid from last night and now she wants to go. She said: "the music just makes you want to move, I can't get it out of my head!" I KNOW! Hahaha! Like mother, like daughter I guess.
Anyway, as for the Roseland, it's a fantastic venue to see a band you love. Club Satyricon is my favorite (only 100 or 200 people in there, very intimate). Roseland is a step up, maybe 1,000ish? Here's a good pic: http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/01/58/f2/6e/roseland-theater-grill.jpg
So the crowd you see is about half the depth of it, merch tables would usually be underneath, at the back, of the vantage point of the photo. And the photo is taken in the 21-and-over balcony that goes around the venue. It's a pretty intimate spot. And if you get there early, Powell's books is just right up the road (on Burnside, a handful of blocks) - INCREDIBLE book store if you haven't been there yet. A whole city block and several floors.
Have fun!!! I'll be the one dancing...hehe. |

| Holy crocodile batman. Just returned from the Eugene, Ore. show and it was INCREDIBLE! My first time at a GB concert was incredible. Got some decent photos and some good video of the end. Can't wait until the Portland show on Tuesday!!! |

Haha! Totally understandable! Did you have a great time last night? Go to the afterparty? I haven't been to sleep yet. After I left there, went home to shower and head to the airport for a conference. Going to be quite a day But man o man was last night a blast. |

Me too, I wish I could have gone to the Seattle show, the three Vancouver shows and the Spokane show. I think next time they come through the PNW I'm going to take a week off work and travel to the shows. I told a friend that and she laughed, but if something fills you with joy and makes you supremely happy, why not try and be around it as much as possible? Ya know? |

Haha! My sentiments exactly I've gone to 18 shows this year and I've got more planned-starting with next week in Wisconsin-I'm blessed enough to work for an old friend (he gives me the time off) and to have met some other GB travelers so it doesn't get too expensive on any one of us. Some of my friends think I'm nuts but they see how exhilarated I am after going to see GB and then they understand. They make my soul happy-and I can be a jaded old bitch so that's saying something
Cheers to traveling as far as your able to do something that brightens your world _________________ -The only way to go is underground... |

haha.
Ive been trying to go to as many as I can, but since I'm 17 I have to convince my parents every time into letting me go... And find an adult to "supervise" me and my friends for every show out of town. it SUCKS. So I've only manages to go to one this year... They think that's enough but it's not! |

Eh, I feel your pain. When I was your age (oh god, wheeze), I lived in the middle of nowhere. If I wanted to see a band, I had to hire a minibus and convince enough friends (10 to 15 of them) to fill it and buy tickets for all of them for whatever show I wanted to go to. Oh, not to mention convince my parents that they should lend me the money for the bus and the tickets until people paid me back for both. I was a born travel agent!
I managed to go to three gigs in OMG THE CITY that way, though... And seeing that I was actually pretty responsible, my mum chilled out and let me go to shows with just my best friend eventually.
And then I moved to London. _________________ turn frustration into inspiration... |

Hahahaha!! I have an airfare credit from a cancelled trip to Edinburgh and think I'm going to reuse it when they are touring in the UK next. So I'll hit a lot of the western US shows and UK shows. A girl can dream, right? |

18? Amazing!!! I can't imagine getting to have 18 fantastic evenings full of such energy. There's no other feeling like it, getting wrapped up in the music, the crowd, dancing, not caring about anything at all. It's liberating and exhilarating. |
